Note: Bio-based coatings, which refer to the replacement of fossil raw materials through the use of recyclable bio-based raw materials, are green, sustainable coatings that reduce carbon emissions.

The development of a standard for biobased wood coatings will determine how to verify that the coating contains biobased and how much biobased content is required to meet international and industry requirements, allowing the standard to regulate the principles for the development of biobased wood coatings.
